Analog to Digital Conversion
The key to managing recorded evidence is converting it to a digital file (wav, aiff, mpeg, avi). We process original evidence in many formats including audio cassette, CD, DVD, VHS and miniDV cassette. The resulting digital files can be reviewed on a CD/DVD player or any computer using Windows Media Player, Real Player and/or QuickTime. The digital format has many benefits; one of the most important is the ease of locating and playing needed passages.
Restoration and Enhancement
The digital format also makes it possible to extract conversations from recordings contaminated with tape noise, distortion, telephone interference, machinery and everyday street sounds. Using customized software, we can enhance the audio and bring clarity to hard to understand dialog. This is critical for making accurate transcripts.
